Temporary reintroduction of border at the internal borders control by Germany
In relation to G7 summit in Elmau, Germany has decided to reintroduce border checks at its internal borders. This measure will come into force on Tuesday 26th May 2015 and will be applied till Monday 15th June 2015.
Based on available information, the internal borders of Germany will remain open for cross-border traffic at all time, passengers may however be checked at selected border crossing points or near them.
Application of the above mentioned measure is in accordance with Art. 23 of Regulation (EC) No 562/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 15 March 2006 establishing a Community Code on the rules governing the movement of persons across borders (Schengen Borders Code).
