9.What are the main tasks and responsibilities of the National Rapporteur in your country?
  • 9.1. Monitoring and analyses of the situation, trends and possible threats
    Since France has not appointed its national rapporteur, its responsibilities have fallen on the shoulders of various public bodies in charge of combating trafficking in human beings, such as the ministry of interior (OCRTEH, OCLTI, OCRIEST, DAV), ministry of social affairs, labour, and solidarity, ministry o housing (DGAS) and ministry of justice (Department collection and analysis of trafficking in human beings).
  • 9.2. Collection of data on THB.
    France does not have a national database of trafficking in human beings related data. Not relevant.
  • 9.3. Coordination of anti-trafficking activities on a national level.
    Anti-trafficking activities in France (prevention and suppression) are not coordinated by one single body. 
     
    The enforcement of anti-trafficking legislation is in the hands of the ministry of justice, offices of prosecution, and relevant police headquarters and their coordination centres. 
     
    Activities of NGOs (assistance to victims of trafficking in human beings) are coordinated by the Directorate general for social affairs, which falls under the ministry of the ministry of social affairs, labour, and solidarity and the ministry of housing.
