Czech Republic to introduce temporary checks at its border with Slovakia
The Czech Republic will reintroduce temporary border checks with Slovakia from Wednesday, October 4, 2023, in reaction to a significant increase in illegal secondary migration and an increase in activity of organised groups of smugglers.
Random checks will be carried out along the whole section of internal borders with Slovakia in a flexible manner and with limited negative impact on the flow of cross-border traffic until October 13, 2023.
The move has been coordinated with Poland, which is taking a similar step.
