Autor v článku upozorňuje na připravované sloučení zákona o právu na informace o životním prostředí se zákonem o svobodném přístupu k informacím. Ačkoliv jde o krok správným směrem, v jeho průběhu by mohlo dojít ke zúžení dosaženého standardu v přístupu veřejnosti k informacím o životním prostředí. Tuto svou tezi dokládá autor na konkrétních příkladech z praxe veřejného ochránce práv a uzavírá svůj článek doporučeními na úpravu připravované novely.

The author points out that consolidation of a Right to Environmental Information Act and Freedom of Access to Information Act is being prepared. Although the intent itself is right, there is a danger that due to the consolidation, the actual access to environmental information might be reduced. The author supports this presumption with examples from practice of the Public Defender of Rights (Czech Ombudsman) and suggests certain modifications to the draft bill.
